Paradise Park is a leafy neighbourhood park tucked away beside the river in Newlands, Cape Town. Surrounded by mature trees and dense greenery, it feels more like a peaceful woodland retreat than a traditional city playground. Its shaded paths, grassy spaces and natural setting make it a welcoming place for family outings, picnics and relaxed afternoons outdoors.
One of the park’s best-known attractions is the Hundred-Acre Wood, a large wooden treehouse built around an established tree. With raised platforms, ladders and climbing areas, it gives children an imaginative place to explore beneath the forest canopy. Other play areas around the park include swings, slides, jungle gyms and climbing equipment, while the stream and open lawns add to its adventurous atmosphere.
Paradise Park also offers outdoor exercise equipment for adults, along with plenty of shaded space for walking, relaxing or enjoying a picnic. Supported and cared for by the surrounding community, the park remains a much-loved green space and a popular destination for after-school visits, weekend outings and easygoing family time.
